Toyota Avalon - User Reviews - CarGurus

Each ranking was based on 9 categories. Here is the summary of top rankings. Great Car — My wife drove this car for the first , miles, then I put over miles on it. I have to say that the car still drives as good with miles as it did with miles. Great on gas mileage for a mid size car with V6 engine. Best car I have ever owned. Only complaint was O2 sensors are over priced. No Worries — Performance - fair, I did try a set of summer performance tires that helped immensely in corners.

Build - Excellent, K miles and still going the same as day one. Appearance - bland Cost of Ownership - minimal Fun Factor - Boring, leans a fair amount in the corners, rear suspension with two adults in the rear seat bottoms out easily.

Styling is kind of Jiichan-poi, but nice. Full leather with wood trim and JBL sounds, though I dunno what's up with that middle woofer. Think I'm going to off it and stick a 12" Alpine Type R for the mids and lows Just wish it was RWD for this size Good on gas for a V6, and maintenance is pretty easy. I think it'll be a lot more fun if the suspension was a little stiffer. Feels like I'm floating on the road sometimes FWD, soft suspension, irritating 10" woofer that keeps busting the foam An Extremely Reliable Car.

I've owned 4 cars prior, and I was trading them in at 85, miles; but not with this one! Oil change was always between 3, and 4, miles. I now use high mileage oil in the car. Continue to be very satisfied with the gas mileage--still get mpg on the freeway. Decent Car — V6 has a little get up and go and the brakes aren't bad considering the weight of the car.

Not a sport or even touring car, body roll is beyond belief. Car was abused far more than any car should, yet still rode nice and looked decent.

Smooth Ride, full Of Extras — at the time i was looking at the lexus, town car or theQ Comfortable — I bought this with 90K in It has K now and has been almost no trouble. The bench front seat allows 6 passengers. Lots of room, dual zone temp control. The vehicle stability control is works well in when you need to steer around something in the road.

Very nice ride, reliable, quiet. The power outlet was handy for the laptop. Nothing comes to mind. The hood latch stopped working for a while, I wired it shut. Then it started working OK again. I guess the penetrating oil took a while to work. Smooth Operator — I purchased it with miles. It does not use any oil and the transmission is very well designed. It was making much noise coming from the suspension. Slowly but surely I began eliminating them. Rear torsion bushings, Front torsion bushings, Quick Struts, Lower control arms, lubrication and tightening of cradle mounts.

It is now quite as a church mouse. I bought it right so I could afford to put a bit of cash and elbow grease into it. Someone said that an Avalon is a car that is sort of an investment and not to be afraid of the expense of upkeep.

The parts are not very expensive and it is a dream to drive. It gobbles up the bumps in the road making for a very smooth ride. Timing belt has to be serviced every k miles. In my eyes, the Avalon looks better from every angle and test driving it sold me. The car's comfortable, quiet, a This was my dream car and it is still is today!
